He chased her down to Humphrey Head on the coast of Morecambe Bay in 1390 the last wolf in England. But now the wolves have returned, a pack of them roaming their territory in the South Lakes and once again you have the opportunity to encounter them. Wolves is a game where you help safeguard and document the life of the pack by carefully tracking and photographing them. By sharing the images on social media with the hashtag  #wolveslive, or uploading them to the game website, players can add their pictures to the game map and share in the care of this majestic beast. Check out the links in the menu for more information on the life of the Lakeland wolf pack and for tickets to a guided encounter with the pack.

There are scores of stories about the last wolf. Our wolf is thought to have been killed on Humphrey Head, a finger of land that points into Morecambe Bay.

The last Wolf In England

by Jon Fox

After the Crusades he
killed the last wolf in England.
"One infidel is as good as another".
in romantic paradise
wilderness was anaesthetized.
Children acquired Wordsworth goggles
lest blackthorns scrape their eyes,
while Nature was reduced
to television size.
Yet ghost prints are on our lawn
and wilderness is in the wood,
lurking in coughing fits of blood.
